01What contractors need

What contractors need from a website

Good web design for contractors comes down to four jobs, whatever the trade. The sections below then cover how each trade uses them differently.

  • Show the work

Visitors judge a contractor by finished projects. Projects need a title, a place, a summary and a picture, and they should be easy to add.

  • Make it easy to ask

A form that takes a name, contact details and a description of the job, and a number to call. Every enquiry is saved and emailed to you.

  • Say what you do and where

The services you take and the area you cover are plain text on the page, and you can change them when they change.

  • Stay current without a developer

You edit the words and pictures yourself, and the layout cannot be broken by accident.

02By trade

The same website, used differently by each trade

Roofers

Enquiries about damage and repairs tend to be urgent, while replacements are a slower decision.

Illustrative enquiry, written by us (not from a customer)
“There is water coming through the ceiling after last night. Can someone look at it this week?”
What the site should do
Put repair and replacement on separate pages so each enquiry arrives already described. Show finished projects with the town they were done in.
How KIT handles it
The message field carries the description. Add a note to the urgent ones, and move replacements through Contacted and Qualified as the estimate progresses.

Plumbers and electricians

A mix of emergencies, which cannot wait, and planned jobs such as upgrades and installs.

Illustrative enquiry, written by us (not from a customer)
“No hot water since this morning. Is anyone available today, or should I book for tomorrow?”
What the site should do
Keep your number and the enquiry form on every page, and list the jobs you take so visitors can see whether you do theirs. Licence and insurance details are plain text you edit yourself.
How KIT handles it
After hours, the enquiry waits in your lead list and you are emailed. On Growth, the chatbot answers from your own documents at any hour and says so when it does not know.

General contractors and remodelers

General contractor website design is about larger projects with a long decision. People compare several firms and look hard at past work.

Illustrative enquiry, written by us (not from a customer)
“We are planning a kitchen and bathroom remodel for spring. We would like a rough idea of timing and a visit to discuss it.”
What the site should do
Home remodeling website design is mostly about projects. Give each one a title, a place, a short summary and a picture, and keep adding them as you finish jobs.
How KIT handles it
Long consideration means follow-up matters: use the notes on each lead to record what was said, and the statuses to see who is waiting for a reply.

Handymen and small trades

Many small jobs of different kinds, often from the same neighbourhood.

Illustrative enquiry, written by us (not from a customer)
“I have a list of small jobs: a sticking door, a loose rail and some trim. Can you do all of it in one visit?”
What the site should do
A clear list of what you take on, in plain words, and a form that lets people describe several jobs in one message.
How KIT handles it
Every enquiry is one row with the full message, so a list of small jobs stays together instead of being split across texts.

03 / Edit

Edit your own projects and services

Loading the demo…

Made-up data. Nothing leaves your browser. Sample projects for a fictional contractor. Nothing is saved or sent. Real KIT lets you edit the text and image fields your site defines.

How this works

Change a project’s title, location, summary and picture. Each field has a limit, so one long title cannot push the others around.

Press “Try to break it” and see what happens.

04 / Capture and organise

Where enquiries go, and how you keep track

Loading the demo…

Made-up data. Nothing leaves your browser. These leads belong to a fictional contractor. Everything runs inside this page: the four statuses and the CSV columns are the real product's, and no email is sent.

How this works

Send a sample enquiry, then move it through New, Contacted, Qualified and Closed, and add a note about the call.

The list exports to CSV whenever you want it.

05 / Measure

See which pages and sources bring enquiries

Loading the demo…

Made-up data. Nothing leaves your browser. The numbers are generated for a fictional business and are not from a customer.

How this works

Analytics shows visits, pages, sources, and lead and conversion figures.

Questions

Before you book a call

Can I show my projects?

Yes. We define the editable fields for your projects and services, and you edit the text and pictures from a dashboard, inside limits. Tell us in the audit what you want to show.

Do you do construction company website design?

Yes. Construction companies and trades use the same managed plans: a fast site, an editor for your projects and services, and one list for every enquiry. What we set up differs by business, and the audit is where we agree it.

Do different trades need different plans?

No. The same plans cover every trade. What differs is the content and the fields we set up. Growth adds the chatbot, booking requests, heatmaps and A/B testing.

How are enquiries organised?

Every enquiry is one row with its message, source and status: New, Contacted, Qualified or Closed. You can add notes and export the list to CSV.

Does this include marketing or SEO?

Yes. Every website plan includes local SEO on the site we run: Google Business Profile upkeep, service-area pages and structured data. Short-form video content is our managed marketing service, and paid advertising is not included in any package. Nothing here promises rankings, leads or revenue.

Who owns the site if I leave?

You own your domain and your copy, and you can export your leads to CSV at any point. The platform stays on our infrastructure: the multi-tenant engine, the CRM and the AI layer.

How do I start?

Book a 30-minute call. We look at your current site first, then recommend a plan or tell you that you do not need one. Your dashboard is set up after the call, once the first invoice is paid.

Not quite what you are looking for?
